Mannheim
World class: Top sport at the Maimarkt Tournament
A highly satisfied Peter Hofmann presented himself to the media representatives at the closing press conference on the final day of the 59th Mannheim Maimarkt Tournament. He said that there had been outstanding performances and excellent top stars, such as Olympic Champions, World Champions and World Cup Winners, in all areas.
The President of the Mannheim Equestrian Club described the Longines EEF Nations' Cup on Sunday, in which ten teams took part, as the highlight. "Our course director did a fantastic job of ensuring that the tension remained until the very end and that the audience in the packed stands went along enthusiastically!"
The family-owned company Brose presented another world-class highlight: Michael Stoschek, Chairman of the Brose Shareholders' Meeting and himself a successful show jumper, presented the winner of the Brose Group Prize, the final of the Youngster Tour for seven- and eight-year-old horses, with an e-mountain bike with a Brose motor, produced at the company's founding location in Berlin.
For the lucky winner David Will, Mannheim is a successful place. He landed his first S-level victory here in 2008, won the "Badenia" in 2013 and the Maimarkt Championships last year. In the saddle of the seven-year-old Holstein gelding Dax, the silver medallist at the European Championships in 2021 was the fastest of the 12 "clear" riders in the Brose test and broke the light barrier after 42.16 seconds without a drop.
Will immediately showed how well the sporty Brose motor, with which three world championships have been won so far, supports the rider when he led the lap of honour on the e-bike.
