Mannheim, 05-07-2019

The Spanish rider Sergio Alvarez Moya and his 8-year-old stallion Gucci Musterd, the last pair in the jump-off, won the final of the Youngster Tour for 7- and 8-year old horses on the final day of the 56th Mannheim May Market Tournament at the MVV equestrian stadium on Tuesday and so captured the prize put up by the Brose Group.

Moya completed a clear round in the jump-off and crossed the line in 40.78 seconds – 79 hundredths of a second ahead of Holger Wenz (Bad Laer). The latter was on Hatrona, a 7-year-old mare bred in the Netherlands, and produced a clear round in 41.57 seconds. Jörne Sprehe (Bayreuth), who won the City of Mannheim Prize on Monday, came third after a clear round in 42.50 seconds on his 7-year-old mare Hot Easy, who was likewise reared in the Netherlands. The winner Sergio Alvarez Moya also finished sixth on his second horse, 7-year-old Halifax W, with a clear round in 43.86 seconds.
