Stoschek finishes third in Trento-Bondone
As in the years before, Michael Stoschek was the only foreign participant to line up at the hill climb in Trento, Italy, a race in the European Historic Sporting Rally Championship.
The more than 17-kilometer road up to Monte Bondone has over 200 bends, including 34 hairpins, and involves a total climb of 1,400 meters in altitude.
Stoschek clocked a time of 12 minutes 24.42 seconds to finish third in the GT class behind two other 3l Porsches.
Stoschek, who twice won the event in previous years with the IROC Porsche, commented: “Our tires were harder than those of the competition and so we lost a lot of time, especially in the first section, due to the fact that there was too little grip on the front axle. All my rivals were on softer slicks and that cost me at least second place this time. Still, it was a magnificent event with an incredible number of spectators, including numerous German fans who gave their vigorous support to their only compatriots in the field.”
