Teichalm Winter Classic

The Winter Classic is a rally for classical cars in Styria. 33 teams had registered for the event and had to complete 720 km in two days, 425 km of which were over 25 regularity trials. Michael Stoschek and Dieter Hawranke lined up with the number 27 and were hoping for a lot of snow in the Austrian mountains in order to have a lot of fun behind the wheel of the 1984 Audi Sport Quattro and test new studded tires. Unfortunately, there were snow and the remains of ice on only around 10% of the route and at many points the participants ahead of them whirled up dust. That meant the Brose Team was not able to exploit the advantage of the Audi’s all-wheel drive. Stoschek/Hawranke kept to the prescribed time in all trials and only conceded penalties on the connecting stretches, for which the time the organizers had allotted was too tight. Nevertheless, they managed to finish a remarkable 4th in the overall standings.

The next outing for the Brose Motorsport Rally Team is at the Majorca Rally from March 12-14, 2015.
