Tennis: Krawietz/Pütz in the last 16 in Toronto
At the National Bank Open in Toronto, the German tennis doubles team of Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz made a successful start. They won in the sixteen-finals in only one hour and five minutes with 6:3 and 6:2 against the Canadians Peter Polansky and Adil Shamdasin. They had moved up to the tournament after the Tsitsipas/Davidovich Fokina duo pulled out.
Krawietz and Pütz are expected to meet the winner of the duel between the Canadians Benjamin Sigouin/Kelsey Stevenson and the French-Canadian doubles team Nicolas Mahut/Vasek Pospisil in the last 16 on Friday.
