The Audi Autotest Motorsport Team triumphs at e-rally in Switzerland

Saint Maurice, 06-01-2019

Guido Guerrini and Emanuele Calchetti (left in the picture) capture victory at the Rally du Chablais, while Fuzzy Kofler and Franco Gaioni (right in the picture) finish third. Audi Autotest Motorsport Team leads in all world championship title races following this success at the e-rally in Switzerland.

The two Audi e-trons impressed across the board at the third stage of the FIA Electric and New Energy Championship in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. Guido Guerrini and his co-pilot Emanuele Calchetti finished three seconds ahead of the Tesla duo Fesquet/Brams at the Rally du Chablais to celebrate their first win of the season in the third race. The second team of the South Tyrol outfit rounded out the successful weekend in Switzerland by picking up third spot, just three-tenths of a second behind the second-placed car. The French pair Malga/Bonel crossed the line in their Tesla one-tenth of a second behind the two pilots from South Tyrol. Prusack/Benchetrit came fifth – the French/Polish team led the Rally du Chablais after the first day, but then Audi Autotest Motorsport in particular caught up and crowned its performance by capturing first and third. An impressive display enabled Audi Autotest Motorsport to chalk up its first win of the season in the third championship event; the team now also leads in all title races.

Audi is in top spot in the manufacturers’ championship, 14 points ahead of Volkswagen. Guido Guerrini leads Artur Prusak in the drivers’ championship, while Emanuele Calchetti likewise has a two-point advantage over Benchetrit in the co-drivers’ standings.

The Audi Autotest Motorsport Team’s e-trons are getting more and more into their stride and lead the FIA Electric and New Energy Championship in all title races. The outfit of team principal Josef Unterholzner has now picked up first and third place in Switzerland after finishing second and third in the Czech Republic.

The battle for the titles continues at the Oerias Eco Rally in Portugal next weekend. The cars and pilots from the Audi Autotest Motorsport Team are also among the favorites in the rally in Southern Europe.
