US Open: Three-set thriller victory for Krawietz/Pütz

Kevin Krawietz from Coburg and his doubles partner Tim Pütz have reached the quarter-finals of the US Open in New York. They defeated the Italians Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori 6:4, 3:6, 7:6 (10:4) in a match tie-break in the round of 16. They had previously beaten Tiago Monteiro from Brazil and Mariano Navone from Argentina 6:4, 6:1 in the second round. They will now face the Argentinian duo Andrés Molteni and Máximo González on Wednesday.
