Ronaldo Segu's last shot could have taken the game into overtime, but the Bamberg point guard's lay-up missed and so Ludwigsburg ultimately ran out narrow winners in Freak City. In Karsten Tadda's 638th BBL game, Bamberg lost 73:75 (53:58) to the RIESEN, who were thus able to keep their chances of reaching the playoffs alive.

A crowd of 4,527 witnessed a fiercely contested encounter in which Ludwigsburg laid the foundation for victory, especially in rebounding at the offensive board. The visitors also conceded just four turnovers in the entire game. Bamberg's top scorer for the Bamberg Baskets was Kyle Lofton with 15 points. Joel Scott (21 points, 10 rebounds) and Justin Simon (10 points, 11 assists) each notched up a double-double for the RIESEN.

"Congratulations to Lars and his team on the win. We conceded 16 sometimes stupid turnovers and allowed Ludwigsburg 14 more shots after offensive rebounds," said Anton Gavel after the game. "Ludwigsburg's second chances really hurt us, especially in the first half, as did the six offensive rebounds in the final four minutes, which broke our back. In offense, we only found good shots or the right decisions in some cases and again fell into one-on-one situations more often," continued Gavel.
