Basketball Bundesliga: Brose Bamberg wins third game in a row

Chemnitz, 11-27-2022

Brose Bamberg is getting better! For four quarters, the Amiel team played with high concentration at the Chemnitz Niners, hit many beautifully played three-pointers and got the third win in a row in the Basketball Bundesliga with the 88:75 away victory.

Since the change of playmakers, it has been noticeable that different professionals have come up trumps in each game. After Solomon Young, Christian Sengfelder, Patrick Miller and Gabriel Chachashvili, it was Jaromír Bohačík and Amir Bell in Chemnitz, who both delivered a season's best in Bamberg kit with 21 and 20 points respectively. Especially Bell, so far more of a tough defensive specialist, showed an outstanding offense: The American took ten throws from the field, nine of which went into the basket. The Amiel boys had held the quick 14:8 lead until beyond the first quarter, but midway through the second quarter they got a 0:7 run due to carelessness on defense, which briefly resulted in a 35:37 deficit.

With the lead behind them, Bamberg's self-confidence also rose. The guests slowed down the high tempo of the first period, played out their attacks mostly through many stations until the end of the 24 seconds and thus found the free shooters. The beneficiary in the third quarter was especially Jaromír Bohačík - with 12 points, including three threes within two minutes. While Bamberg consistently hit 40 percent of their distance shots over the entire 40 minutes, the Chemnitzers ran out of luck after their first nine three-point attempts.

Oren Amiel (head coach Brose Bamberg): "It was important that we matched their aggressiveness right from the start. We did a great job because winning in Chemnitz is not easy."

On Wednesday, November 30, 2022, the Amiel team wants to qualify for the next round of the FIBA Europe Cup with a win away at last-place Golden Eagle Ylli, enough motivation should be there after the embarrassing 78:81 home loss against the Kosovars.
