Brose supports technical training of pupils at the Julius Motteler High School
Jörg Graichen, Plant Manager in Meerane, presented a check for €2,500 to Dr. Martin Seidel, chairman of the booster club of the Julius Motteler High School in Crimmitschau, on Thursday, October 25. André Raphael, mayor of Crimmitschau, was likewise in attendance. The family-owned company is supporting the technical training of pupils with the donation, which has been invested in equipping a makerspace.
The makerspace is a new trend in modern education. Since 2015, it has become established mainly at universities and is intended to offer pupils space to experiment. To enable that, the school equipped a room with laser cutters, mini computers and a workshop corner with a drill, mini circular saw and soldering stations. That means pupils will now be able to gain practical knowledge and work on various technical questions in a creative ambiance. The objective is also to inspire pupils for the engineering profession and technical subjects in general. As part of its engagement, Brose attaches great importance to improving the training of young people. This is the 12th time that it has supported the project.
