Formula Student Spain: Another persuasive performance by the CAT Racing Team

Following an impressive third place at the Hockenheimring, the Coburg Automobile Team repeated its success in Spain, capturing third spot with its “C-18 Ozelot” on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

The 34 CAT team members hardly had the chance for a breather: One week after the Formula Student Germany, they set off on the 15-hour journey to Spain to compete in their final competition of this season.

In the international design competition for students, the team that wins is the one with the best all-round package of design, racing performance, cost structure and business plan. A total of 37 teams lined up in the combustion engine category (FSC). The Coburg crew finished an outstanding third overall.

The team from Coburg University excelled above all in the dynamic disciplines. A first place in the “autocross” contest and third in an endurance test over 22 kilometers were special highlights. CAT also captured fourth spot in the night-time acceleration contest in an impressive atmosphere.

The team completed its most successful season so far in Spain, notching up all in all a fourth place in Austria and three third spots in Germany, Spain and at the Formula Student East.
