Tennis: Krawietz missed out on semifinals at Indian Wells
Brose-supported tennis player Kevin Krawietz missed out on a place in the simifinals at the ATP Masters in Indian Wells. The Coburg native and his doubles partner Horia Tecău lost 4:6 and 2:6 against the team of Pütz / Venus.
The initial phase of the game was balanced at first. Up to 3:3, both doubles managed their service games. In the seventh game, Krawietz / Tecau were able to fend off two breakballs before Pütz / Venus made it 3:4 at 40:40. This break was enough for the German-New Zealand duo to win the set 6-4.
In the second set, both opponents had problems with their service game. When the score was 1:1, the Coburg and his Romanian partner lost their service game, equalized with a rebreak to 2:2, and indicated the service game again. Pütz / Venus showed no more nakedness. They won the second set 6-2 and with it the match.
Starting next season, Kevin will play again together with his regular partner Andreas Mies. Together, the two won the French Open doubles competition in 2019 and 2020.
