The successful opening match after the reunion of Krawietz and Pütz was now followed by the second victory at the Monte Carlo Masters and thus a place in the quarterfinals.
In the round of 16, the German tennis doubles team met Matthew Ebden and Rohan Bopanna. India's Bopanna was crowned the oldest doubles tournament winner only three weeks ago after he claimed victory at the Indian Wells Masters at the age of 43.
But Krawietz/Pütz were not impressed by this and secured victory with 6:4 and 6:3 after a playing time of 73 minutes.
In the quarter-finals of the ATP 1000 clay-court tournament, they await the doubles team of Jean-Julien Rojer (Netherlands) and Marcelo Arevalo (El Salvador), who knocked Greek brother pair Stefanos and Petros Tsitsipas out of the competition in round one.
