Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz have reached the semi-finals of the ATP 500 tournament Hamburg European Open. The 3rd seeded duo defeated Juan Sebastian Cabal from Colombia and Matwe Middelkoop from the Netherlands 7:5, 6:4 in two sets.
In the first set, Krawietz/Pütz were initially trailing 0:3, but made a comeback and won the set 7:5. In the second set, they started strong and won 6:4. Overall, the German doubles showed a commanding performance and thus secured their place in the semi-finals.
The Germans are then expected to meet Nikola Cacic from Serbia and Victor Vlad Cornea from Romania on Saturday, who were able to beat Hugo Dellien from Bolivia and Guido Pella from Argentina in two sets in the quarter-finals.
