Interview with Eva-Maria Joa
I discovered my enthusiasm for technology at an early age. Even as a little girl, I spent a lot of time with my dad in his workshop. Later, at secondary school, I naturally chose the technical branch. I was very interested in physics. This basically paved the way for me to pursue a technical apprenticeship.
I found the mechatronics apprenticeship particularly exciting. The combination of electronics, mechanics and information technology was right for me. So I applied and started my training at Brose after successfully passing the application process. In a basic metalworking course, I first learned the basics of metalworking such as drilling, milling, filing and grinding. I then acquired specialist knowledge in electrical engineering and pneumatics. At Brose, however, I have not only found my dream job, but much more: for example, I also school interns and share the knowledge I have acquired with them. I have also helped organize events such as the First Lego League, a robotics and research competition for schoolchildren.
