Environmental, Health, and Safety Intern (Year Round)

Your tasks

  • Assist in implementation of EHS policies and programs
  • Participate in routine EHS inspections and incident investigations and work to implement corrective/preventive actions
  • Conduct risk assessments, job safety analysis, and other evaluations as necessary
  • Participate in the development and review of employee training material for various EHS topics
  • Provide EHS training to employees
  • Create or revise lockout tagout procedures
  • Assist with developing and implementing the chemical management system to ensure compliance with federal law
  • Assist with ISO 45001 implementation at the site level
  • Be a member of the local ARGUS team and participate/facilitate associated meetings

Your Profile

  • Start Date- This position is planned to start September 1, 2024
  • Hybrid (in office at Auburn Hills location 3 days a week dependent on school schedule)
  • Able to work 20 hours per week on average during the school year/ flexible schedule
  • Able to work 30-40 hours per week on average during the summer/ flexible schedule
  • Enrolled in a college or university seeking a Bachelor's in environmental, health and safety with a planned graduation date of Spring 2025 or later
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
  • Strong communications and presentation skills
  • Understanding of local, state and federal Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety regulations
