US Open: Krawietz and Pütz in the final!

The German doubles players Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz beat Marcelo Arévalo from El Salvador and the Croatian Mate Pavić 6:3, 6:7 (9:11), 6:4 in the semi-finals in New York on Thursday.

The duo were confident on their serve at the start and did not allow their opponents a break point in the first set. The two Germans also dominated the second set. They made up a 1:4 deficit in the tie-break and already had a match point, but still had to concede defeat. They were 2:4 down in the third round, but won four games in a row and reached the final after a strong return.

There they will face Australia's Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson tomorrow at 6pm and have the chance to crown the tournament with their first joint Grand Slam title.
