BBC Coburg: Defeat in Frankfurt
Despite an outstanding first half, BBC Coburg lost 70:74 to the SKYLINERS Juniors. After a dominant start – including a 17:2 run, strong ball movement, aggressive defense, and a 48:30 halftime lead – Coburg completely collapsed after the break. Darius Dawson was the top scorer with 19 points.
While Frankfurt initially had major problems and Coburg impressed with strong three-point shooting and intense defense, the tide turned in the third quarter. Frankfurt's new signing Desmond Watson in particular took charge with 13 points in the third quarter and led his team step by step. Coburg increasingly lost its structure on offense, hardly got any open shots and had to take several desperation shots.
Despite a narrow lead until the final minute, the BBC missed crucial points. After two missed free throws by Coburg, Crnjac put Frankfurt in the lead for the first time. A blocked attempt by Dawson and two Frankfurt free throws sealed the defeat. A final shot by Höllerl to equalize missed its target.
Now the BBC needs to work on the mistakes of the second half and, after a weekend without games, attack again against Bayern II on February 1.
