In front of a record crowd: Coburg overcomes the Munich hurdle!
In front of 1,849 spectators, BBC Coburg won an important home game against FC Bayern Basketball II 80-76. Coburg's top scorer was Darius Dawson with 24 points, followed by Dylan Fasoyiro (16), Nico Höllerl (11) and Tim Herzog (10). Coach Patrick Seidel particularly praised the strong defense, the good pick-and-roll and the intense team performance despite a weak three-point percentage.
The BBC started with a strong defense and took an early lead, but allowed Bayern to catch up by halftime (37-38). After the break, Dawson in particular stepped up, scoring the first eleven points. An 11-0 run gave Coburg a double-digit lead.
Bayern closed the gap again in the final quarter, but important offensive rebounds and points from Fasoyiro, Höllerl, and Theiß secured the victory. Dawson once again put the finishing touches on the game.
With this win, Coburg keeps its direct neighbors in the standings from Munich at bay and wants to carry the momentum into the upcoming away game at the Fellbach Flashers.
