Coburg hits the turbo after the break – 117:85 gala against Oberhaching
BBC Coburg won 117:85 against a severely weakened Oberhaching team on the 22nd ProB South match day. After a weak first half, Coburg turned up the heat after the break and scored an impressive 72 points. With its 14th win of the season, BBC secured its place in the playoffs ahead of schedule.
Six Coburg players scored in double digits, with Darius Dawson (23 points, 10 rebounds), Nico Wenzl (16 points, 10 assists) and Dylan Fasoyiro (22 points, 12 rebounds) standing out.
After a 0:10 false start, Coburg fought its way back into the game, benefiting from physical advantages under the basket, but initially defending poorly – especially against Muratovic, who scored 27 points in the first half. At the break, Coburg led by a narrow margin of 45:44.
In the second half, however, the BBC played like a different team: more intense defense, good ball movement, and a 26-3 run in the third quarter quickly made the outcome clear (71-47). Zeisberger was largely taken out of the game, the ball moved better and better, and the lead grew to 25 points after the third quarter (86-61). The 100-point mark was reached five minutes before the end. In the final phase, the young players got more playing time; Finn Motter and Felix Egger were particularly impressive, the latter with a career high of 10 points.
After the international game break, the BBC will continue on March 7 with an away game against the in-form Leitershofen Kangaroos.
