Early Exit in Paris: Krawietz Eliminated in Doubles and Mixed Doubles

Paris, 06-01-2026

The French Open in Paris has been a disappointment for Kevin Krawietz. The Coburg native was eliminated early in both the men’s doubles and mixed doubles.

Together with his regular partner Tim Pütz, Krawietz failed to reach the quarterfinals. The sixth-seeded German duo lost in the round of 16 to the Indian-Brazilian team of Sriram Balaji and Marcelo Demoliner, 5-7, 4-6. The match had started promisingly: Krawietz and Pütz took an early lead but were unable to hold on to it. After a closely contested first set, their opponents prevailed in the decisive moments. In the second set, the Germans fell behind early once again; although they fought their way back and saved match points, they ultimately had to admit defeat.

In mixed doubles, the tournament ended even sooner for Krawietz. Partnering Slovakian Tereza Mihalíková, he was eliminated in the first round. They suffered a clear 3-6, 3-6. Krawietz and Mihalíková struggled to find their rhythm and failed to capitalize on their opportunities, while their opponents applied constant pressure and gave them little room to maneuver.

This dashed Krawietz’s hopes of another success at Roland Garros early on. Tim Pütz did not compete in the mixed doubles and focused entirely on the doubles competition.
