US Open: Krawietz/Pütz Advance to the Round of 16

The German Davis Cup doubles team of Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz has reached the round of 16 at the US Open.

In the second round, the Germans defeated Jean-Julien Rojer and Theodore Winegar 7-6 (12-10), 5-7, 6-2 after a hard-fought match.

In the round of 16, Krawietz and Pütz will now face the British pair Lloyd Glasspool and Julian Cash. The match is scheduled for Tuesday evening at 11:10 p.m. German time.

Last year, the German duo’s run at Flushing Meadows ended in the round of 16. In 2024, Krawietz and Pütz even reached the final, but lost in two sets to Australians Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson.
