Krawietz/Pütz Battle Their Way Into the US Open Semifinals

New York, 09-09-2026

Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz have reached the semifinals at the US Open and can continue to dream of their first Grand Slam title together. The German duo prevailed in a high-level, nail-biting quarterfinal thriller against third-seeded Marcelo Arévalo and Mate Pavić, winning 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 7-6 (10-7).

After losing the first set, Krawietz and Pütz showed great composure, fought their way back, and won the thrilling match tiebreak. With this victory, the pair has reached the US Open semifinals for the second time since 2024. Back then, they had fallen short of reaching the final in New York.

In their bid to reach the final, the Germans will now face the duo of Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury. The dream of their first Grand Slam triumph together thus lives on.

Krawietz and Pütz have been among Germany’s most successful doubles players for years. They celebrated their biggest title together to date in 2024 by winning the ATP Finals. As early as next week, both will be back in action for the German Davis Cup team, which is battling Croatia for a spot in the finals.
