Krawietz Turns a New Page
The successful German tennis doubles team of Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz will go their separate ways at the end of the season. While Pütz plans to reduce his tournament schedule in the future, Krawietz will begin competing on the ATP Tour with a new partner in 2027.
The Coburg native will team up with Croatian Mate Pavic. The partnership was agreed upon following discussions during the Davis Cup. For his part, Pavic is ending his partnership with Marcelo Arevalo of El Salvador.
On the court, Krawietz and Pütz are once again on a winning streak as they bid farewell. With a convincing 7-5, 6-2 victory over Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic, they laid the groundwork for the German team’s advancement to the Davis Cup Final in Bologna. For the duo, it was already their 17th victory together in the Davis Cup.
After nearly four years as one of Germany’s most successful doubles teams, an era is coming to an end. Among Krawietz’s greatest achievements are the 2019 and 2020 French Open titles alongside Andreas Mies, as well as winning the 2024 ATP Finals with Tim Pütz. The Davis Cup Final at the end of November could now be the last joint appearance for this top German-German duo.
