Coburg, 11-13-2025

The German Association for Materials Management, Purchasing and Logistics (shortened in German to BME) has honored Sven-Uwe Erber, Head of Purchasing and Supplier Quality, as “CPO of the Year 2025”. This award not only recognizes the successful strategic leadership and continuous development of group Purchasing under Erber’s direction. It also serves as a tribute to the outstanding team performance of the entire department.

Under the leadership of Sven-Uwe Erber, the team's focus is on digitalization, sustainability, and strategic alignment. Their clear aim is to make the supply chain resilient and future-proof. Erber established a holistic cost management system, introduced data-based supplier management, and systematically digitized processes, including the use of artificial intelligence. With an annual purchasing volume of five billion euros, the division significantly contributes to the company's performance.

Our goal is to develop an intelligent, automated and human-centric purchasing system – driven by data-clarity and measurable impact, says Sven Erber. Success is always teamwork. According to Erber, this also includes clear decisions, mutual respect and the will to improve. Jessica Polke, Chairwoman of the BME Upper Franconia-Bayreuth region, confirms: Anyone who knows Purchasing at Brose from the inside knows - this is not the status quo, this is the future of Purchasing.

The latest award joins a series of achievements: In 2023, Brose received the Procurement Excellence Award for setting up a holistic cost management system and the Intelligent Spend Management Award from Roland Berger Consulting and SAP for the best digitalization solution in purchasing.
