BBC Coburg: Squad update

The 2nd Basketball Bundesliga Pro B returns. BBC Coburg faces its first challenge at TSV Oberhaching Tropics on Sunday, September 29, at 4 p.m. With a complete squad shake-up in the summer and a completely new team, the club from Upper Franconia is starting the league season with renewed vigor.
Departures
13 players left BBC Coburg this summer. Whereas Gabriel Kuku and Adrian Petkovic moved to Bamberg Baskets in the easy Credit Basketball Bundesliga, Coburg lost its captain Sven Lorber, Kolten Mortensen, Olamide Pedersen, Danas Kazakevicius and Adrian Worthy, further key players from the past season. In addition, David Gerhard, Yuri Kondrakov, Nils Piprek, Kristian Ortelli, Neo Krizanovic and Jannis Rümer turned to a new sporting challenge in the summer.
Additions
The squad for the coming season will be a dynamic mix of young talents and experienced players, supplemented by the experienced US-American Zach Hinton, who averaged 29.2 points and led the league in rebounds (12.6) in the Regionalliga West last year. Nico Wenzl, who has already played over 100 second-division games despite his 23 years, and Marlon Stephan, who had a strong Pro B debut season in Breitengüßbach, will become important pillars of the team. Simon Franke, a top performer and aggressive defender from league rivals Speyer, will also play a key role in the team. Other new additions are Tim Herzog from Erfurt, Sean Ludwig from Leipzig and the young center talent Ben Diederichs, who has already played for the German U16 national team. The regular rotation is completed by the remaining players Abdul Karioui and Nico Höllerl.
The team is complemented by cooperation players from Bamberg, above all Coburg's own Julian Günther. Other talents such as Denzel Mota, Marlon Lippe, Niklas Zwanziger, Felix Egger, Felix Geiger and Tim Ludwig will also get the chance to gain their first Pro B experience. The youth players are also eligible to play for the Baunach Young Pikes (2nd regional league) and in the NBBL for the cooperation partner from Bamberg.
Head coach Patrick Seidel commented on the developments of recent months as follows: “We are proud to continue on our chosen path and offer young players the opportunity to develop further with us. The new signings and contract extensions are a clear sign that we believe in our vision and are sticking to it.
