Brosians run for children in need

Coburg, 11-13-2022

Almost 1,000 employees at 47 Brose locations laced up their running shoes on November 13 and covered at least five kilometers each. They were not only doing something for their own fitness, but above all for children in need: Max Brose Hilfe made a donation to the children's charity Unicef for every runner. This raised an impressive sum of around 20,000 euros.

The charity run was both the conclusion and the highlight of our family-owned company's largest global running event to date. In September, the company sports department had launched a virtual training program in ten languages at all locations: "From 0 to 5 kilometers in 8 weeks" was the challenge. In China alone, around 380 participants took to the track for the good cause. Brosians from Brazil, India, Japan, Canada, Korea, Mexico, the USA, Thailand and nine countries in Europe also raised the amount raised.

The bust of Max Brose was the starting and finishing point at the charity run in Coburg. Also there: Olaf Gelhausen (second from left).

In Coburg/Germany, Olaf Gelhausen, as chairman of the Max Brose Hilfe, did not miss the opportunity to take part in the run himself. The basketball players from BBC Coburg, which is supported by our company, also mingled with the 40 or so runners who completed five laps around the plant premises.

Unicef will use the donations to distribute life-saving kits. This will help children suffering from life-threatening deficiencies in war and crisis zones.
