Brose-backed tennis pro Kevin Krawietz and his doubles partner Andreas Mies prevailed over Nicolas Mahut and Edouard Roger-Vasselin 6-3, 3-6, 10-5 in their first round match of the ATP 500 tournament in Barcelona on Tuesday evening.
Already within the first ten minutes, "Kramies" secured three points. The German doubles' serve was terrific. In the second set, however, Mahut and Roger-Vasselin did not allow a break chance. Krawietz and Mies showed nerves of steel, kept the net tight and won the decisive match tie-break.
The doubles team will now play the winners of the duel between Daniel Evans/Jamie Murray and Juan Sebastian Cabal/Robert Farah in the quarter-finals. We wish Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies every success.
