Tennis: ATP Masters - Krawietz and Mies reach quarter-finals

Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies secured their place in the quarter-finals of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia with a commanding 6-3, 6-3 victory over Italian doubles Lorenzo Sonego/Luca Nardi on Wednesday afternoon.

Right from the start, the "Kramies" left little doubt as to who would finish the match as the winner. After both doubles had won their service games in the first set, Krawietz/Mies broke the serving Nardi for a 2-1 lead. Sonego/Nardi countered with a rebreak, which Mies followed up with a service game to nil. After 36 minutes, the "Kramies" won the first set. In the second set, the German doubles team broke for a 3:1 lead, after which Sonego/Nardi did not really find their way back into the match. With the third of three match points, Krawietz and Mies secured the victory.

In the quarter-finals, "Kramies" will meet either Simone Bolleli/Fabio Fognini or Julio Peralta/Franko Skugor. We wish Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies every success!
