At the Swiss Indoors in Basel, Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz narrowly missed out on reaching the final. In a hard-fought semi-final match, they lost to the Mexican-French doubles team Santiago Gonzalez / Edouard Roger-Vasselin, seeded 3rd, 4:6, 4:6.
The defeat in Basel also meant Krawietz and Pütz were eliminated from the ATP Finals in Turin, where the eight best doubles teams in the world compete against each other.
The German doubles nevertheless have a chance to achieve their second tournament win together in 2023. At the end of the week, the last big event of the year on the ATP Tour is coming up, the Masters in Paris. In their first-round match, they will face the young Czech-American doubles team Jiří Lehečka / Ben Shelton.
