Tennis: Two wins to start - Krawietz and Pütz in the quarter-finals of the ATP Masters

Monaco, 04-10-2024

Coburg-born tennis player Kevin Krawietz and his partner Tim Pütz won two days in a row to start the tournament and are now in the quarter-finals of the ATP Masters in Monte Carlo.

The tournament started for the tennis duo on Tuesday with a clash against Team Bublik (Kazakhstan)/Mannarino (France). The Germans solved the first round task effortlessly and won 6:2, 6:1 after 45 minutes of play. This meant that the round of 16 against the singles stars from Russia Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev took place the following Wednesday. The sixth seeds Krawietz/Pütz also performed well in this match, winning in two sets 6:4, 6:1. Krawietz and Pütz, who won the ATP 500 clay court tournament in Hamburg last year, will meet Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen in the quarter-finals on Friday. The Belgians had previously knocked the defending champions and runners-up Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek out of the tournament.
