Toronto: German tennis doubles fail in semi-finals
Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz missed their chance to win in Toronto. In the semi-finals of the ATP 1000 tournament, they lost to their opponents Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury 4:6 and 4:6.
Already in the first set, things did not go well for the German doubles, who lost a service game early on. Although Krawietz and Pütz held strong, their opponents managed to win the set 6:4.
The second set was similar. After an early break for the defending champions, Krawietz and Pütz could not turn the tide and lost 4:6 after one hour and 16 minutes.
The next stop of the US Open Series is the Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati, where Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz are expected to meet the French-Canadian doubles team of Mannarino and Auger-Aliassime on Tuesday afternoon.
