Commodity Buyer

- Responsible for component and supplier sourcing strategies for assigned product group.
- Provides cost and quality wise favorable quotations for required materials out of the NAFTA market.
- Lead supplier selection for the NAFTA region
- Perform cost and value analysis in cooperation with other departments, centers and product teams.
- Cost reduction for new purchased parts and sub-assemblies by early supplier involvement and by working with the respective Customer Team Buyer(s).
- Provides support to production with coordination of technical changes of purchased parts and implementation of economical improvements.
- Initiates and records cost avoidances during launch timeframe.
- Responsible for the issuance of RFQ's prior to start of production (SOP) as well as engineering changes during current production.
- Support the Customer Team Buyer(s) in the target setting process (defining the target prices as well as commodity implications).
