- Support special project sourcing strategies that are a part of new high-dollar, critical components with long-term, preferred suppliers.
- Provides cost and quality wise favorable quotations for required materials out of the NAFTA market.
- Perform cost and value analysis in cooperation with other departments, centers and product teams.
- Investigation of potentials for substitution of material and alternate manufacturing processes.
- Provides support to production in regards to change management coordination of technical changes of purchased parts and implementation of economical improvements.
- Initiates and records cost avoidances during launch timeframe.
- Supports all members of the customer team for purchasing activities.
- Responsible for the issuance of RFQ's prior to SOP as well as engineering changes during this time period. Also, initiates RFQ's and engineering changes during current production.
- Consolidation of proposals and Target-Price-Setting in coordination with the other departments.
