Tool Room Supervisor

Your Job Specification

  • Ensure all employees adhere to all rules and responsibilities of RG Brose
  • Review all outstanding job cards and arrange the required activities to have the jobs completed in the best possible method. [Job Request process] is followed for all work requirements from the tool room
  • Coordinate / do the manufacturing of machines and equipment needed for new projects or improvements on current production equipment
  • Review the quality of all the completed jobs and ensure that the work was done as requested
  • Complete the job card data and sign off together with the relative requester. File all completed job cards for future reference and in accordance to company standards
  • Conduct all the required [Critical inspections] to ensure that equipment and machines at both the Brits facilities are always in a 100% safe good working condition and can be used for the purpose it’s designed for. Complete all filing and data capturing requirements concerning the critical inspections. Take note to keep the history of all critical inspections as this is required by law and may be requested for review. Any deviating points found during the inspections must be repaired or actioned immediately and the equipment my not be used until the failure has been repaired
  • Act as supporting function to TPM and route cause analysis activities
  • Ensure that the required lockout was done before any tool room employee starts working on machines or equipment. The [Lockout system] describes the details of the process to ensure the safety of all
  • Follow scheduled maintenance at Plant 1 and 2, on all generators, compressors and also powder coating

Your Profile

  • Grade 12 / standard 10
  • Qualified Artisan Toolmaker or Fitter and Turner or similar trade qualification
  • Min 2 years in supervision of a Machine shop or similar
  • Min 2 years Tool and Die artisan
  • Min 2 years CNC machining experience (preferred HAAS or Fanuc controls)
  • Computer literacy in all MS Office applications
