Weld Technology Manager

Your Job Specification

  • Leading the FT department (incl. team and area leaders and all other FT staff) according to the Brose corporate culture (FIRST) and leadership principles
  • Develop and implement a technology strategy to foster an effective and efficient use of welding, fastening and acoustic processes within the plant TUS (incl. expert know how and training)
  • Establish a solid FT organization comprising processes and expertise for operating and maintaining the Brose key technologies welding, fastening and acoustic testing (incl. sound definition of interfaces to the shopfloor, production teams and other plant departments as well as a profound Brose wide network to central functions and other plants)
  • Ensure, monitor and further develop existing (Brose) technology standards (incl. parameters) and instructions for welding, fastening and acoustic testing together with internal and external partners to ensure stat-of-the-art processes
  • Verify and approve weld assemblies using the “cut, edge and polish method” as well as destructive tests (e.g. torsion test, tensile test) within the weld lab including the documentation according to internal standards/instructions and customer requirements
  • Plan and manage budgets and investments of assigned cost centers realizing an optimal utilization of welding, fastening and acoustic testing equipment
  • Initiate, plan and execute cost saving and continuous improvement projects
  • Accompany and conduct the procurement of new welding, fastening and acoustic testing equipment ensuring the accordance to internal and external standards and regulations

Your Profile

  • University degree in Engineering (min. Master; e.g. majoring in mechanical engineering); further production and assembly experience is a plus
  • Six to eight years of work experience in the automobile industry or ancillary industry
