US Open: Out for Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz

One year after reaching the final at the US Open, Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz have been eliminated in the round of 16.
The exceptional athlete from Witzmannsberg near Ahorn, who was sponsored by Michael Stoschek early on in his career, was beaten 4:6 and 4:6 by the New Zealand/Indian duo Venus/Bhambri together with his doubles partner from Frankfurt.
They are now looking to the future: on September 12 and 13, they will play with the German Davis Cup team in the second qualifying round in Tokyo against hosts Japan.
Krawietz and Pütz celebrated their biggest joint coup to date when they won the world title at the ATP Finals last November.
