ATP Masters Paris: Krawietz and Pütz lose in the quarter-finals
Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz lost 4:6, 5:7 to the top British duo Lloyd Glasspool and Julian Cash in the quarter-finals of the Masters tournament in Paris. Despite a solid performance and few mistakes, the Germans were unable to counter the world number one's serene play.
Krawietz and Pütz held their own for a long time in the first set, but had to concede 4:6 after a late break. They also showed fighting spirit in the second set and fended off several break chances, but a mishit by Pütz at 5:5 led to the decisive break. Glasspool took the first match point after 80 minutes of play.
Despite the defeat, Krawietz and Pütz have already qualified for the ATP Finals in Turin, where they will compete as defending champions from November 9th. There they will once again face the best doubles pairs of the season - including Glasspool and Cash as the top seeded team.
