BBC Coburg: Away win in Speyer

Speyer, 11-22-2025

Coburg celebrated an important 70-62 away win in Speyer, extending its lead at the top of the table as Ulm did not play.

The game was largely a defensive battle with poor shooting percentages on both sides. The outstanding player was Darius Dawson, who dominated with 18 points, 18 rebounds, and four blocks, recording his second double-double of the season. For coach Patrick Seidel, it was his first win in Speyer, which he described as particularly valuable because his team consistently implemented its defensive game plan despite poor three-point and free throw shooting percentages.

After a tough first half (30:24) and a brief change of lead in the third quarter, Coburg decided the game in the final quarter, led by Dawson and an important 7:0 run. Speyer fought its way back, but Dawson secured the victory with a block and two free throws.

After the international break, there will be a summit meeting against second-placed OrangeAcademy Ulm in the HUK-COBURG arena on December 6.
