BBC Coburg: Strong Statement to Start the Season

BBC Coburg kicked off the new season with an impressive 100:49 home victory against ProB returnees TV Langen. The team from Coburg dominated the short-handed visitors from the very beginning and broke the 100-point mark in their very first game. Top scorer was power forward Tim Herzog with 19 points – in a match where every Coburg player got on the scoreboard.
BBC head coach Patrick Seidel praised his team for their aggressive defense, unselfish play, and relentless drive to win: “We moved the ball well, defended strongly, and consistently extended our lead.”
Driven by around 700 fans in the HUK-COBURG arena, BBC came out firing. After just seven minutes, the score was 18:0 before Langen managed their first points. A powerful dunk by Tim Herzog to make it 27:4 capped off a nearly perfect first quarter. Coburg remained dominant in the second period – with a strong three-point percentage (46%) and superiority under the basket. After halftime, the game continued seamlessly. The lead grew to 40 points, allowing Seidel to expand the rotation. Young players like Felix Egger and Julian Günther impressed with energetic performances. Egger eventually scored the 100th point.
Following this successful start, BBC heads to Erfurt on Friday (October 3rd) for a regional derby, before hosting Frankfurt in Coburg on Sunday (October 5th).
