BBC Coburg: Winning streak continues

In a top game that truly lived up to its name, BBC Coburg defeated BG Hessing Leitershofen 77:69 in front of a frenetic crowd of 776 in the HUK-COBURG arena on Saturday evening to remain the only unbeaten team at the top of the ProB South table after five matchdays.

Despite another poor performance from the floor (46% twos, 30% threes), Coburg left its mark on the game - as it did a week ago in Munich - above all in defense. The BBC conceded just 69 points against one of, if not the league's, most individually talented teams and, with the exception of comebacker Jason George, had almost all of the Kangaroos' key players under control.

Power forward Darius Dawson was the Vesta club's top scorer in a team effort, recording a double-double with 22 points and twelve rebounds. After the victorious battle of attrition in the top game, BBC Coburg now faces another tough opponent in the shape of the Fellbach Flashers. With just one defeat from four games, the Flashers travel to the city on the west coast next Sunday afternoon (October 26).
