BBL: Bamberg loses to Göttingen

In front of the shocked eyes of 4606 spectators, Coach Anton Gavel's team lost to the already relegated BG Göttingen with a score of 92:101. A weak defense and bewildered body language characterized the scene in the Brose Arena.
The game started promisingly – the Baskets hit almost everything from beyond the three-point line at the beginning. With successful long-range shots by Noah Locke, Moritz Krimmer, Ronaldo Segu, and Karsten Tadda, and a 15:7 lead, Bamberg forced Göttingen to take a timeout. However, they couldn't regain control of the game afterward. Especially defensively, the Baskets revealed too many weaknesses – by the end of the quarter, Göttingen had equalized to 30:30. After the break, Bamberg seemed to have recovered, with Moritz Krimmer completing a run to 63:56, which Filip Stanic had started with five consecutive points. But suddenly, Göttingen's Kostja Mushidi turned up – hitting three three-pointers within 42 seconds, followed by two free throws, and put the guests on the winning track with a 63:67 lead. Top scorer Ronaldo Segu fought against the defeat in the final quarter, but the playmaker acted too selfishly at times and missed nine shots from the field. Even Brandon Horváth, despite his best offensive performance in a Bamberg jersey, couldn't prevent the defeat.
On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, the Gavel boys will be guests at the Hamburg Towers. Jump is at 8:00 PM.
