Dinkel Continues Winning Streak in Untergröningen

At the 16th Untergröningen ADAC Rally Sprint, Patrik Dinkel and young co-driver Justin Apel claimed a clear start-to-finish victory in the Brose Mitsubishi Evo 9 RS. With over 40 participants, the event featured a strong field on the demanding five-kilometer course, which included forest sections and hairpin bends.

“This track is a dream for any rally driver,” Dinkel enthused after the wet reconnaissance. Conditions dried up before the start, prompting the team to opt for slick tires – a successful choice. Despite slippery forest sections, Dinkel showcased his signature fast and spectacular driving style. A heavy rain shower during the second run slowed times by around seven seconds, but the duo still set the fastest time. The lead remained intact in the third run as the track dried again: with a 22.4-second advantage, they secured overall victory ahead of local favorites Ralf and Leon Stütz, who delivered a strong performance in an identical Mitsubishi. Ralf Hillmann and Anna Hirnichs also impressed, placing fifth overall in their Evo 6.5.

After four successful events in just two months, a quieter phase now follows. Participation in the Rallye Fränkische Schweiz on October 11 is already confirmed – though additional events beforehand are still possible. “I can’t wait to fire up the engine again,” said Dinkel.
