The 2024/25 season has come to an end for BBC Coburg – with a slight tinge of disappointment in sports terms, but also with many positive developments that bring hope and anticipation for the future. The officials draw an optimistic conclusion: "Of course, we would have liked to reach the playoffs, that was our declared goal," said Managing Director Wolfgang Gremmelmaier. "Ultimately, this goal was narrowly missed – in the end, we lacked consistency in some crucial moments. The team repeatedly showed its potential throughout the season, but strong phases alternated with less convincing performances." ProB Operations Manager Christopher Neudecker adds: "We knew that with an extremely young team with an average age of just 20 years, it would not be an easy season, but we gained many important experiences. The young players have made great strides – this makes us very confident."

Tim Herzog and Ben Diedrichs have established themselves as key players at the Pro B level this season. Both are now among the faces of BBC, successfully shaping the path of relying on young, developable players. Another highlight was Julian Günther, who, at just 17 years old, made his first strong impressions as a homegrown talent of the club. His five steals in the game against Ludwigsburg are particularly memorable for many fans. "Julian took his first steps at the ProB level this season – and with remarkable maturity. We are convinced that we will hear much more from him," praised Gremmelmaier.

To comprehensively evaluate the season and plan the next development step, the entire BBC organization will retreat for a strategy day at the end of April. In an intensive exchange, sporting, structural, and organizational topics will be jointly reflected upon, and new impulses for the coming season will be set. "We don't just want to react, but consciously shape. That's why we take the time to go in-depth together," said Neudecker. Special thanks go to all those who support and carry BBC Coburg: the loyal fans who create an atmosphere week after week – whether at home or away, the numerous helpers without whose efforts a regulated game operation would not be possible, as well as all sponsors and partners who enable professional basketball in Coburg with their commitment. "Without this strong environment, much of what we achieve would not be possible. For that, we say a heartfelt thank you," said Gremmelmaier.
