Coburg
Start of apprenticeship at Brose
This year, 90 young men and women are starting an apprenticeship or dual study program at automotive supplier Brose: 63 new junior staff are starting their careers at the family-owned company's German locations in Coburg, Bamberg/Hallstadt, Würzburg, Berlin and Wuppertal. In Slovakia, in Czechia and the USA, 27 future mechatronics engineers and industrial mechanics will start work in fall.
On September 1, 39 young people started their apprenticeships at Brose at the Franconian locations and in Berlin. They are learning one of the six industrial-technical or one of the three commercial professions. Three of the Coburg apprentices are being trained as machine and plant operators under the 3+1
model of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Brose has been participating in this educational model for young people with an immigrant background since 2016. Instead of the usual training period of two years, the participants complete an extended three-year apprenticeship that combines language acquisition, vocational school instruction and in-company training.
A further 24 junior staff will begin dual studies in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, business informatics and computer science at Brose's German locations on October 1. The supplier makes this practical and challenging training path possible in collaboration with the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University, Coburg University of Applied Sciences and Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences.
Brose has been offering young people a wide range of career entry opportunities for almost 100 years. By offering apprenticeships, we are making a sustainable contribution to securing the next generation of employees in our family-owned company and opening up sustainable career prospects for young people,
explains Michael Stammberger, Head of Training at Brose. In 2022, almost 400 young people worldwide will be learning a profession at the automotive supplier. Around 200 of them are employed at the international locations.
Brose is also looking for new apprentices for the coming year. School students can now find out more and apply for an apprenticeship or study position on Brose's career portal .
