2.BBL: Coburg Celebrates Dramatic Victory in Munich!

München, 10-13-2024

In a thrilling encounter at Munich’s BMW Park, BBC Coburg secured their second win of the young season against FC Bayern Basketball II. Despite trailing by 12 points at the start of the second quarter, the Vestestädter narrowly and spectacularly won 75:77.

BBC started the game with focus, with Zach Hinton standing out positively at the beginning. 14 of Coburg’s 17 points in the first quarter were scored by the American. However, Bayern managed to pull ahead by double digits at the start of the second quarter. The Vestestädter stayed within striking distance and, thanks to a 12-0 run at the end of the first half, not only caught up with Munich but also went into the locker room with a 6-point lead. The game turned into a real nail-biter in the second 20 minutes. Many hustle plays, turnovers, and free throws followed. Nevertheless, Coburg kept their cool in crunch time. Nico Wenzl and especially the outstanding Nico Höllerl, who set a new personal career high with 19 points, hit several crucial free throws. Marlon Stephan finally secured the away victory at the line in the last second of the game.

Next Sunday (20.10.), BBC Coburg will continue with their next home game. The SKYLINERS Juniors from Frankfurt, who, like Coburg, have a record of two wins from three games, will be guests at the HUK-COBURG Arena.
