Cincinnati, 08-16-2023

The German doubles team, who entered the Cincinnati Open just a few days after their semi-final exit in Toronto, dominated the first round of the tournament against well-known opponents and secured a commanding spot in the last 16.

Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz, competed at the Western and Southern Open in Ohio and faced the singles specialists Adrian Mannarino from France and Felix Auger-Aliassime from Canada in round one. The German duo put in a strong performance from the start and needed just over an hour to defeat the French-Canadian combination with a clear 6:1, 6:4 win.

In the round of 16, Krawietz and Pütz are expected to face Croatian-Australian duo Nikola Mektic and John Peers early on Thursday evening.
