Once again, three German plants belonging to international automotive supplier Brose rank among Germany’s top ten companies for idea management, taking 3rd, 5th and 9th places respectively.
This is the outcome of a study recently published by the German Institute of Business Administration (dib). A total of 290 companies from 18 business sectors, including 44 automotive suppliers, took part in the study by the Frankfurt Institute.
Within the automotive supplier sector, seven of Brose’s German plants are among the top 20 in Germany, outranking other leading suppliers.
Brose plant manager Jörg Graichen (Meerane) and the coordinators of the corporate improvement suggestion scheme in Coburg und Hallstadt, Johannes Weidner and Reinhold Wirsing, accepted the awards on behalf of all the participating employees at the three plants.
Last year, some 10,500 suggestions were submitted at Brose’s 23 locations worldwide, of which nearly 6,800 were implemented, resulting in cost savings of some five million euros.
The highest participation rates in the group, at 100 per cent, were recorded at Changchun/China, Chicago/USA and Meerane/Germany, followed by Puebla/Mexico (98%) and Sindelfingen/Germany (69%).
Suggestions coordinator Reinhold Wirsing: “This excellent result demonstrates the great willingness of our employees in Germany and abroad to continually improve our processes and actively contribute to the company’s development.”
