Brose takes on more trainees in 2009
Despite the drastic impact of the current economic crisis, the Brose Group will be investing in new products, technologies and staff training in 2009: This automobile supply company also has no intention of stepping on the brakes as far as young trainees are concerned - on the contrary: In September 2009, around 90 new trainees will be starting their apprenticeship at Brose. This is almost 10 percent more than the previous year.
The long-term approach of this 100-year old company is reflected in all its activities - which of course also includes the trainee plans: "We specifically train on a needs-basis and do not waver from this course even in difficult times, because every crisis comes to an end at some point. The young people that we will be recruiting this year will be needed as qualified specialists in our domestic and international locations in the year 2012", said Michael Stammberger, head of apprentice training.
Brose's reputation as an international company in the automotive industry - one of the most sophisticated and exciting in the world - and also as an attractive employer is clearly reflected in the job applicant statistics: In 2008, 1,500 applications were received for the 80 available trainee positions.
Around 260 young people are currently undergoing training at the six Brose sites of Coburg, Hallstadt, Würzburg, Wuppertal, Berlin and Sindelfingen. The trainee programs will prepare them to work at one of the 52 locations in Europe and overseas. Brose will be spending more than 12 million Euros alone for trainee programs and staff development across the world in 2009.
