Coburg, 10-12-2010

Former Brose apprentice Sascha Herr has been awarded the Bavarian State Prize by the government of Upper Franconia for his outstanding scholastic achievements.

The junior Brose mechatronics technician was one of only four students to achieve a grade average of better than 1.5 out of 500 students who passed their 2009/10 winter finals.

Herr completed vocational school with a grade of 1.2. The 20-year-old Herr passed his Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) finals, for which practical and theoretical knowledge are evaluated, with a dream grade of 1.1.

During a ceremony that took place at the premises of Brose training, principal Anton Staudigl noted: “This prize recognizes your good achievements as well as your commendable social conduct.” Anton Staudigl had special thanks for Herr’s trainers, whose dedication and knowledge helped the young man reach his full potential.

Herr received prize money in addition to a certificate at the ceremony attended by Esther
Loidl, Vice-President Human Resources Brose Group, and Jan-Erik Cosmar, Head of Brose Academy as well as other representatives from the vocational school. The young mechatronics technician has been working in the building services department at Brose in Coburg since February. When questioned about his plans for the future, Herr said: “I am currently taking distance learning courses for further qualifications to become an electrical engineering technician.”
